Harvey Nichols Beauty Event

Last Wednesday I had the fantastic opportunity of being invited, as part of a group of around seventeen lucky lady bloggers, to attend a beauty event organised at Harvey Nichols in Leeds.

The event was held in order to showcase the many brands, products and brilliant services available within the store, many of which people may not know about if it wasn't for evenings like these.
I for one know that I wasn't aware you were able to have facials and massages within the store, but, low and behold, this service is on the cards if you wish.

Everyone first met outside, and we were greeted by Stephanie Mensah - Harvey Nichols' Press and Marketing Manager - before being led inside, and given a guided tour around the different beauty sections.
A lot of discounts and special offers were on offer throughout the evening too and we were all more than welcome to take advantage of them if we liked.

Our first stop, was to see the lovely Elemis ladies.
Having visited this section of the store only last week (see here), I didn't want to hog these services from the other bloggers for too long - I'm already sold on the fantastic products on offer here - although diving back into the massage chair regardless did cross my mind...

As the beauty event was so popular, it was quite hectic to try and keep the "Blogger Group" together as a whole for too long, and we inevitably split up, half continuing with the tour, the other half remaining stuck, fixated, mesmerised and excited at the section that was SHOW Beauty.

SHOW Beauty is a high end hair care brand, founded by socialite Tamara Ecclestone, and is exclusvive to Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Harrods.

Let me just say, the products are Ah-Mazing!

The packaging just oozes glamour.  It is made from heavy glass and embellished with silver and rose gold details - it would definitely add sophistication to any bathroom shelf that's for sure.

I was desperate for a piece of this action - anyone who knows me will know that I'm all for things that will help tame my long thick hair, and there's no way I was going anywhere until I had sampled some of the offerings from SHOW Beauty.

The dry-shampoo was beyond fantastic.
It smells lovely; doesn't turn hair white; it brushed in perfectly and really removed the "oops I haven't washed my hair for this event" look.
Finished off with some of SHOW's hair treatment oil - again, a miracle in an absolutely stunning looking glass bottle - and a spritz of hair fragrance spray, my hair was transformed.

I was very tempted to buy some of the products, but forced myself to hold back - I'm not quite sure how, but I did.
The prices were very 'high end' though - £30 for the dry shampoo, £50 for the treatment oil and £55 for the fragrance spray - but the products were fantastic so the prices can be justified.
Stock was literally flying off of the shelves, bloggers and customers alike obviously loved what they saw and were snapping the beautiful bottles up.

The dry shampoo will be mine though - it is most definitely on the Christmas list.

The small group of us who were still together, wandered around, and headed over to Shu Uemura where the very lovely Sammie was having a little bit of a make over.

I watched very intently, as the lovely Shu Uemura lady prepped Sammie's face with lots of gorgeous smelling lotions and expertly applied her make-up.

Always one to want a smokey eye on a night out, but never able to perfect it, I was really pleased when this was the look Sammie chose to go for, and I tried to take in as much of the demonstration as possible.

Hopefully I can put it into practice the next time I'm out.

I loved the finished result - Sammie looked amazing - she did at the start of the evening too, but the make up really suited her and the lashes were fantastic.

I've never seen such a huge selection of lashes to choose from - the Shu Uemura lash bar certainly offers a fantastic amount of choice.

We then decided to all head on over to the extremely exclusive skincare range that is Creme De La Mer.

Whilst the prices are not ever going to be within my grasp, the very lovely counter manager, Justine Lindley spent time explaining how the brand began it's journey.

She gave us a real education into skincare - I know I learnt a lot of things that I will definitely be putting into practice from now on.

We were even treated to some fantastic samples of Creme De La Mer's moisturising lotion and eye concentrate - but more on those to come.

Before we left, Justine showed us the fab body refiner that we were all so desperate to get our hands on.  The refiner contains a carat and a half of actual diamond powder, and the sparkle it created on the skin was simply beautiful.

Definitely something for a bride to be, or for a very special event.
And at £80 a tube, perhaps the diamond sparkle isn't too out of reach either.

I had a fantastic time at the beauty event.
I picked up lots of hints and tips, and again, met some great people.

I even visited the MAC counter for the very first time, and added a Clinique foundation to my wishlist

I think I may be developing some expensive tastes.
