The Blogger Made Me Buy It - Tag

So there I was, minding my own business and *B-A-M*, I found myself involved in my first ever blogger tag post.

Not for one second am I complaining about this -  no way - I think it's great.

I love finding out all I can about other bloggers - yep - I am very nosey -  and I think sitting back and having a little think about myself since I began blogging - in particular the changes in my spending habits (eek!!) is probably a really good idea.

This particular tag was set up by the lovely Danniella aka Famous In Japan, and I was tagged into in by the very fabulous Kelly at Adventures in Tea and Cake - I just hope I can do it justice!

1) Who are your most influential bloggers?  Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?

I have to say that since I began blogging a little over four months ago, it has been Kelly's advice that I have really taken note of.
I have had my first taste of Lush through her, have developed an addiction to Soap and Glory because of her and have dragged out the recipe books looking for calorific cakes because of the things she rustles up at home.

She's pritty fab.

The ladies I have had the pleasure of meeting since I began blogging are always people I turn to because I know that they are totally honest - if they say something is good (or not) then I know I'm getting good advice.

In particular, I love Hayley, Michelle and Sammie - I've always got my head in one of their blogs.

Glambeautys is another particular favourite of mine - the photographs are fantastic and I just want everything Liza writes about!

2) Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

If it's something I've wanted for a while - and doesn't cost too much money, then I'll listen to the blog reviews.
If it's something a little more expensive, then I'll hold out a little while, maybe read a few more reviews first - but ultimately, if I want it, can afford it, and it gets the green light from my trusted bloggers, then I'll get it.

3) What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

I think at the moment, this would have to be the Soap and Glory Yule Tide set I bought just before Christmas.
I saw a lot of bloggers had bought it, including Kel (!!!), and it just made me want it more.

It's great though - my skin loves it - so advice very well taken.

4) What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

At the moment, I don't think there has really been one.
I could quite easily find myself swept up in the "spending-hype" though, especially at blogger events.  I really want everything pretty that I see, but so far, everything I have bought I still like and use, and everything my poor bank account has stopped me from buying at the time, I still want to buy now.

So no disastrous impulse purchases - yet.

5) Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.

1. Soap and Glory Yule Tide Gift Set
2. Elemis Gift Set
3. MAC Lipstick

I think that's it really - at the moment.

6) Have you ever given into blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

Absolutely having to have a MAC a very bold colour...even though I don't usually wear all...

It is lovely though.

And I will wear it.

I will...

7) Have you ever avoided blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

I have noticed a lot of blog posts about the Urban Decay Palettes, and whilst I can imagine they are really nice, I just know that they would be wasted on me.

I use one colour eye shadow for work, and although I do like to "jazz it up" a little bit for nights out, I don't go out that often, and am not that colour experimental to be able justify such an expensive price tag.

8) Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?

I'm still relatively new to the world of blogging, and I think it's really nice to have the views of other bloggers before I buy things, but if I'm out and about, and I see something I like or need, then I will still buy it without reading a review on it first.

Saying that though, now I think about it, I have found myself searching out products in shops that I have read a review on previously, and have picked that up as my first option, without knowing that I'm doing it.

So I suppose, even subconsciously, blogs do influence my spending habits quite a lot.

And there we are - all done.

I hope you like!

The bloggers I would like to tag and find a little bit more about are:

A Blog's Life
Princess Of Pretty
Beth Tinkerbell
Sophie Rosee
The Tech Bunny

Happy Tagging

  1. Thanks for tagging me lovely, I'm going to do this shortly!
The MAC lipstick looked FABULOUS on you, dig it out of your makeup drawer and put it on! <3

    1. You are just too lovely - and I think I will do. :)

  2. Oh this is a great post. Oh my gosh, I have bought so many things thanks to Bloggers! Haha
I love Soap And Glory products!

    1. Thanks. :)
I know - bloggers certainly know how to make me want to part with my cash. xx

  3. I did the same feeling I should own a Mac lipstick, when I've never worn lipstick before and the fact it was Mac hasn't changed. It was an expensive waste.

Thanks for the mention as well chickadee.
