My Favourite From A Birchbox

I think this month's Birchbox is the best I have had so far...I mean - I've only had three...but still, it was a rather fab one this month.

Saying that though, I'm not going to be doing a full post review on it, because...well...I'm just not.

I was so impressed with one of the items I found that I've decided that I want to, of course show off all of the box contents, but I want this post to feature this favourite product more than the others.

Favouritism?

Definitely!

So - the Birchbox - why did I like this month's edition so much?

Well, for a start, it was quite crazily pink, and I do love the pretty little colour that is pink.

But also, everything inside of it was just really useful.

From the Birchbox make-up bag to the Cindy Crawford Wrinkle Smoothing Capsules, from the lipstick shaped pen to the Pixi by Petra Shea Butter lip-balm, I loved the whole lot of it.

What I really liked though was that everything was very tastefully aimed at raising awareness for the CoppaFeel breast cancer awareness charity (find more details here) - which is simply amazing and oh-so important.

Ladies really do need to be aware of their bodies - I found a lump in my breast late last year and it was terrifying.

Really, really scary.

I couldn't get myself to the doctors fast enough, and after a hospital referral, a few tests and scans later, I found out that it was nothing to worry about...very luckily...but if it had have been...well...lets just say I'm so pleased that information like this is out there and is easily accessible

Anyway - back to my favourite product in this little box of beauty delights.

It was the Balance Me Daily Essentials Cleanse And Smooth Face Balm (£10 for 40ml - find here).

Before I tried out this little product I had never -

~ 1. used any product from the Balance Me range before
(shocking I know!)

or

~ 2. used a cleansing balm before
(I know - double shocking!!)

So I'm very pleased that I was given the opportunity to sort both of these things out in one swoop.

This particular balm is a natural cleanser which is suitable for all skin types, from dry to normal and it even helps balance out oily skin too.

A little miracle in a tube.

The cleanser contains oatmeal powder which helps with that all important skin exfoliation and this - the oatmeal - well, I could definitely smell it when I used the product.

To be honest, it isn't really my favourite scent in the whole world, but I genuinely love how the cleanser works on my skin - so I can totally forgive and get past the scent...and it's really not that bad.

I'm just a bit of a fuss-pot.

I think I may have caught a slight lemony fragrance to this too...but I've been known to be wrong before, so don't quote me on this little "fact" that I may have made up.

Anyway, after removing my make-up (although I have used it to take my make-up off too and it works brilliantly - even with eye make-up!), and following the instructions (of course!) on the back of the tube, I massaged the cleanser onto my dry face and I found it to have a really strange consistency - very thick and it felt a little...well...waxy or waterproofy I suppose...as I rubbed it onto my face.

The oatmeal exfoliated my skin very gently and it wasn't harsh or abrasive at all.

Then, I splashed warm water all over my face and gently removed the whole lot using a warm flannel.

Because I found the texture of the cleanser slightly waxy, having the warmth from the water and the flannel was defiantly required - it felt as though the slight heat to everything helped to "melt" the cleanser off of my skin.

Afterwards, my face felt very clean, very nourished and just very lovely and nice.

I would definitely recommend giving this product a try, and I will certainly be looking into purchasing more natural goodness from Balance Me in the near future.

Thanks for introducing us Birchbox
