The City Girls - Sheffield Event

I hope you all had a fabulous Bank Holiday Monday

An extra day off of work, a sneaky lie-in and the sun was shining - what could have been better!

Well, if all had gone to plan I could have topped your day off nicely by telling you all about a brilliant event I attended a few Saturday's ago

~ The City Girls event in Sheffield ~

But as it so happens, I was just so busy eating, visiting family, and eating a little bit more that I didn't get a spare second to finish my post...so I'm going to pop yesterday's intended post up today.

But I'm sure you'll still enjoy it
(...well...I hope you will anyway!)

Now "The City Girls" consists of Lorna and Holly and one amazing idea to bring blogger's together for meet ups in all different cities across the UK.

I have to say, if any two ladies can make a "city wide blogger event venture" a success then it has very obviously got to be these two.

Both of the girls are super confident, mega driven and they know the exact direction they want to take their vision in.

I really do wish them all the luck in the world - not that they are going to need it at all.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to attend the ladies' first ever event meet up in Sheffield - and it was blooming fantastic.

Thirty blogging ladies hit Bloo88 in Sheffield for a "few" yummy late morning cocktails (or mocktails in my case!) and a little get-to-know-each-other-better-chat

Then once the room upstairs was all ready for us we were asked to pop up, where we were met with a very lovely, very organised set up.

We had a welcome refreshment table provided by Voss and Virtue Ice Tea...

...and once everyone had filed in and settled down Lorna and Holly took to the floor to say a few "Hello's" and give us a little talk about the event and exactly what it meant to them

The lovely Amber from the charity of the day, City Hearts then gave us a very heart felt introduction into the charity and the work that they do in order to help vulnerable people in and around the city

The fantastic raffle was all in aid of this charity and in total we raised £175 which Aviva very kindly matched to give a final fantastic sum of £350 for City Hearts to put to brilliant use

Then all too soon we were let loose to explore the room at our leisure and have lots of conversations with the many fantastic brands that had been invited along.

I headed over to the Benefit table as I was really quite desperate to get my hands on a Roller Lash mascara to give one a try

Yes, I know, I know - I do realise that I am probably one of the only bloggers out there who hadn't tested it out before, but the lovely Benefit lady put this issue to rights and she demonstrated how the little hooks on the wand help to "roll up" the lashes to create a brilliant curl - the result was amazing - especially on my non-existent, teeny-tiny lashes.

I was really rather impressed

I was equally impressed with the lovely array of clothing Secondthread brought along with them - in particular my eyes fell upon a lovely strapless jumpsuit...

Unfortunately at the moment my expanding body just wouldn't do such a beautiful piece of clothing any justice at all - but I shall be patient - I shall wait - and come Summer 2016 I can see me heading straight over to Secondthread to pick up a few fab outfits.

Lush were also in the house telling everyone all about their #VotesForAnimals campaign and showed us lots of their lovely products

I was very impressed with the strong-smelling citrus shampoo bars (a shampoo, in a bar - yep I'm intrigued at how this works too!) and can't wait to give mine a try.

Cinnamon Buns Design were on hand to show us lots of their eye-catching, home-decorating paper cut designs which were just great...

And probably my favourite part of the day was meeting the very lovely lady from Panache Lingerie

Now don't get me wrong, I was obviously a tad embarrassed at admitting to a lingerie specialist that in my 31 years I have never had my boobies professionally measured (eek) and even more embarrassed that the bra I had on wasn't the most flattering (double ekk!) but Zehra was lovely.

She couldn't believe that I was wearing a 36B sized bra though, when, after I had tried a few on, it turns out I should be in a 32DD

(Double D boobies - oh hellllooooo!!)

Once I was in a properly fitting bra I noticed the difference immediately and I'm so grateful that I found Panache Lingerie - I have already browsed their catalogue numerous times and I will be making a few purchases, that I know for sure.

So - we had make up, clothing, body care, boobie care, home decor - is there anything The City Girl's don't cover!

~ I think not ~

We also had a little hair styling area...

...some very cute, amazing smelling perfume bottles from Penhaligon's...

...a sample of Henderson's Relish (which I hear is amazing on chips!)...

...and the room was also dotted with sweeties and cupcakes for us to enjoy as and when we fancied...

And then - as if all of that wasn't enough - we were invited back downstairs to be stuffed full of pizza from the amazingly fabulous Bloo88 people

~ Yum ~

I had such an amazing time at the event - it was well organised, really relaxed, lots of fun and had a really fantastic group of ladies in attendance.

I can't wait for the next City Girls email to hit my inbox...
