All New Fitness Friday


~ Fitness Friday ~

Sound good?

Well I'm a fan and I figured it was high time I mixed things up on here a little bit.

With the New Year being in it's own little swing now and with my blog having only just had it's little fancy-up face-lift I thought why not introduce something a little bit different on here.

And so I've decided that "Baby Baker Friday" won't be stepping into 2017 with me (sob!), instead I'm going to focus a little bit more on myself, on becoming fit and healthy and on making sure I have a little time out to do the things I used to enjoy...

...even if that means an hour Kettlebell class or just half an hour on a treadmill...

It's not going to make much of a difference to my blog really, I mean if we actually look at it for a second, all of those keep-them-just-to-Friday child-related posts haven't been confined to just the one day for a long time anyway.

However that said, I do like having a day in the week where everyone - myself included - knows exactly what will be popping up on the blog - I've found it helps keep me focused and I'm hoping it will also help me keep a steady posting rhythm too.

And so, ~ Fitness Friday ~ is born.

Getting back into exercise is something I've wanted to do for a long time now anyway but I'll be honest I've really found it hard.

I did go back to the gym after Willow was born but with her being so tiny I felt I needed to be with her all of the time (I still don't like leaving her really) and then when I took redundancy, well that put a total stop to any gym activity because we really had to watch where money was going.

Then I tried running again...but I really need someone kicking my backside to do that - it's so blooming hard...I am going out to give it a try again soon but it's going to be teeny tiny baby steps with this one.

So to push me even more in my pursuit to be healthy - I want to be fit enough again to get through a full fitness class without being on the brink of keeling over - and because my "old gym" currently have a fab-not-to-be-missed deal on at the moment - I'm now signed up and am a fully fledged gym member again...


I'm really going to give this my all.

And I'm not going to lie, I want to loose some weight too - I'm not body-confident, I don't like how I look right now and I know there is only myself who can get me where I want to be.

So I'm getting my head back into my Slimming World books properly too and because I weigh on a Thursday, writing this post ready for a Friday makes it perfect to be able to tell all regarding how I'm getting on.

Here's hoping I can achieve my healthy goals soon so that when I want to dance around the living room to The Wiggles making Willow giggle her little socks off I can do it without gasping for breath after only a few minutes.

  1. Great idea look forward to reading your fitness fridays hope little Willow is getting on well. I need to lose just over a stone and I was going swimming once a week up until winter so need to start that again. Its hard to get motivated when its cold outside! X
