A Christmas Gift Guide - Toddler Toys

Right so it's December 5th today which means that in three weeks - exactly three weeks - it will be boxing day.

And here I am with not one blooming gift bought - I don't even really know what either of my children want if I'm honest...

Anyway, purely in the name of research of course (because why else would the little ones have fab toys before Christmas giving me less of an idea what to buy them), here in the Baker household we've been having a look at a few little toys recently and I thought I'd pop them all together within a little gift guide - just in case anyone out there is as unorganised as I am and needs some help.

So, what do we have?

Well first up is something that both myself and Willow absolutely love - the Toddlebike 2...

Now we have the pink bike over here but there is also a red and a blue framed option to choose from - all are equally as nice and it's just about personal preference which one you go for.

I won't say too much about it at the minute because there's going to be a full review on my blog soon all about the bike's awesomeness but because we have found it to be such a great product and with it being so reasonable in price (£23.95), coupled with the fact that BLOG17 will deduct 10% off at the checkout, well I figured I had to at least mention it didn't I.

It would seriously make such a great gift and with a discount too...I mean lets be honest who doesn't want to save a pound or two just before Christmas.

We've used this bike inside the house both on laminate and on carpet, we've used it outside on the street and in the park - Willow's mastered all surfaces with it - even grass (although this tends to create more of a "drag the bike" method than an actual "sit down and whizz around" action).

She's progressed from walking holding the bike, to sitting and moving backwards to actually moving forwards and her confidence has rocketed with it.

It's easy to store, is really lightweight and not bulky in the slightest...

Yeah it's great and I actually can't sing the Toddlebike 2's praises enough really - we genuinely blooming love it.

Something else Willow simply loves right now is her Twinkling Lullaby Igglepiggle...

I popped a full review of this on my blog earlier this week (link above) so I won't go into loads of detail here, but it is just so cute, so cuddly and a toddler TV favourite - what is there not to love for an In The Night Garden fan come Christmas morning?

And talking of "TV Favourites", anyone who knows Willow will know that her love for the ever cute Bing Bunny is at a sky rocketing level right now...

...and I'm a little frustrated actually that more than a few of the Bing related things I wanted to get her for Christmas seem to be sold out - everywhere (that'll be the last minute Christmas buying problem then) but I've sourced a few cute little bits that I'm sure she's bound to love...when I actually buy them...

However I'm not quite sure she'll love them as much as she adores her Toilet Train Bing, but here's hoping...

Again, there's a full review on this within the pages of the blog (link above) but this has been a toy she has not once tired of at all, in fact she has a mini panic daily if he's not visible for a quick kiss and a cuddle whenever the need takes her.

And there's the whole potty training help aspect too - we aren't quite there yet with the potty and have had more "lets sit on it for twenty minutes, stand up and piddle on the floor" moments but Bing and his own little potty have certainly spurred Willow on a little bit.

And come on, it's Bing - what's not to love.

Something we've been looking at that I actually think has perhaps been a little too old for Willow at the moment is the My First Scalextric set...

Saying that though it is marketed at being for children aged three years and above, so hopefully as Willow gets older she will actually be able to be into it a little bit more.

Her Dad certainly had fun with it anyway - I left the putting it together to him because I really don't have patience and it looked crazy complex to me, however he had the track built and up and running in what seemed like no time at all...

Willow enjoyed watching the cars whizz around the track and did have a turn of controlling the cars herself, although I think with her age she found it a little confusing controlling the cars whilst trying to watch where they were going.

She did howl with laughter every time they flew off of the track though so she certainly enjoyed it.

We actually had this set - all be it an older version - when my son was younger, maybe aged around four, and he loved it at the time and I even remember he helped his Dad set it all up without much difficulty at all, so I would certainly say that this seems the perfect minimum age to fully enjoy - and to fully get the most out of - this set.

It would be a lot of fun on Christmas morning that's for sure.

And then last but by no means least are cute, cuddly Noodoll teddies...

Obviously a teddy can be bought for any aged child but because these are so soft, so squishy and oh-so cuddly I think they would make a perfect gift for a new, teeny little baby this Christmas.

They're a little different and a little quirky too aren't they - which I love - what with Ricebonbon (what a fab name!) and his cute little pink glasses...

They're great.

And Willow, being the very loving child (when she's not whacking everyone or smashing up expensive phones and TV sets of course) that she is loves her teddies and these were no exception.

The second I pulled them out of the bag she was grabbing at them for a hug and a kiss and I have to say - it was the glasses which seemed to be her favourite part too.

And so there we have it - my first little gift guide of 2017...

...published in December...

I hope it was a help anyway, and I think I need to now go and panic read a few gift guides of my own to get some ides - and fast...

Happy Shopping
